COVID-19 Travel Updates
Gate 1 Vaccination Requirement
Our primary focus will always be the safety and health of our passengers, staff and the communities we visit. With this in mind, we require all travelers to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 prior to starting their trip. This requirement will remain in place until guidance changes from health organizations and governments.
Additional requirements may exist based on your itinerary and enforced by airlines, government agencies, and local businesses.
Our Covid Response Team are aware of newly imposed travel restrictions which affect several countries in Southern Africa, Morocco and Israel. Our staff are assisting those who are currently traveling as well as those whose upcoming tour departure has been be impacted. As health authorities garner additional data about the Omicron variant, our team will continue to monitor and respond to any new requirements and travel restrictions. The majority of the world remains open and we are continuing our operations with safety and security as our highest priority.
Return to the USA Testing
Starting December 6, 2021, travelers will need to get a Covid-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before returning by air into the United States. The negative result must be shown to the airline prior to boarding. This requirement is for all air passengers two years of age or older boarding a flight from a foreign country to the United States. For escorted tour and river cruise participants, Gate 1 will organize testing prior to departure. Independent travelers are responsible to comply with this requirement on their own. All travelers must have access to personal email, preferably via a smart device, to receive the results. Additional details and costs will be provided at least 14 days before your trip. Full pre-departure testing requirements may be found on the CDC website.
