This is regarding the 12 days Danube river cruise Oct 29 to Nov 11 on the Monarch Queen instead of the Monarch Empress. Thank you so so much for such a great experience. We were so impressed with the level of service and how organized everyone was. We had such a great time and a lasting memory of the trip.

I loved the 11-Day Danube River Cruise with Budapest and Prague. The staff was extraordinary and made the trip a dream. First of all the cruise director, Bart, kept us rolling in the aisles with his sense of humor and quick wit. I really enjoyed his commentary and his daily updates. The servers were great. They gave top notch service, always there to help. We had two wonderful nights of entertainment from outside the ship. The evening games and talent night were also outstanding. Laura did a great job running the activities. I enjoyed her smile and enthusiasm. All of the tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Everything ran on time. I was very impressed with the punctuality of the group. We had wonderful food. It was nice to try food that was native to the culture we were touring. It really couldn't have been a better trip. I highly recommend it to everyone. The only thing I would do is have the guide available in the courtesy lounge in Prague a few more hours or make sure that she announces that there are limited hours to meet with her.

We have been on numerous trips with your company and have had excellent tour guides. However Egos and the driver were by far the best we have encountered. On a scale of 1-10 they both are at a 12+ level. They went above and beyond to meet the needs of everyone on the trip. Egos suggested many leisure time activities and places of interest to enjoy. He was extremely knowledgeable about each of the 4 countries we visited. He was such a nice person it was a pleasure to have him and the driver as our leaders through these countries. It was a trip we won't soon forget!

Our trip to Europe was great, we enjoyed seeing the new sites and learning about each country and city. The tour guide assigned to our trip "Dean" was fabulous. Dean talked to us each day on the bus and explained what area of the country and the names of the cities, mountains and sites we would be viewing. I felt I was getting a good education each day on the sites and cities we would be visiting. Dean was also helpful with directing us to future trips and details we were interested in. He was always kind and extremely knowledgeable on any topic. I felt safe and comfortable with Dean as a tour guide. What an asset he is to GATE1.

Julia our Tour Manager, was exceptionally impressive with her knowledge about not only the areas we toured but also all the detailed historic knowledge she so willingly enjoyed sharing. She was a walking encyclopedia on just about any subject you would ask her about! Our driver, Palvo from Warsaw, Poland, was extremely polite greeting us warmly with a big smile every time we boarded his bus. He was always there to assist us boarding or unloading his bus. He was a very careful driver and was always dressed with a crisp white shirt and tie! He kept his bus immaculately clean and always provided fresh bottles of water for us.

This was our first trip to Europe and our first trip with Gate 1. The entire experience was amazing. We had lots of information prior to the trip to alleviate any concerns we had about travel arrangements to Frankfort and connections with the Gate 1 representative who met us at the airport. All Gate 1 representatives were professional and very personable. Our trip manager Justin helped make our trip extremely memorable. He was professional, knowledgeable about all of the destinations and suggestions for activities in our free time. His organizational skills were excellent- he let us know the upcoming plans, scheduling and kept us on track while making all of the this so much fun. We now have many new friends, amazing memories and will definitely book another Gate 1 tour in the future.

Central Europe tour was Amazing! The itinerary was packed with so many of the must see places in each of the cities that we visited. Our tour manager Fred was phenomenal. He has such a great sense of humor and made each of us feel welcome. Not only did he ensure that everything went smoothly but he also is exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. The local guides in each city also are very knowledgeable and I felt that they where preparing us for a quiz at the end of the trip, with their help we all could pass. My only disappointment is that we did not receive a stamp in our passports at each border crossing from country to country. I would recommend Gate 1 to friends or family and hope to travel with Gate 1 again in the future.

This was my husband's and my first Gate 1 trip. I just wanted to say that we had a wonderful time. We've always booked our own travel, but this trip was a great intro to scheduled tours. Our tour guide, Katerina, could not have been better. She was delightful, organized, personable, knowledgeable, friendly, and just a joy to be around. We found the balance between organized tours in the cities and exploring on our own to be a nice option for us. Our tour group had 27 people, and I think this added to the fun we had. Everybody got along, and the group wasn't too big. Only nine of us went on to Berlin, and having a small group was great. As I mentioned above, my husband and I have always booked travel on our own, and decided to take a chance on a Gate 1 tour. We felt that it was well organized and top notch, and would truly consider doing another trip through Gate 1. The only problem I seemed to have was using the Vox. Between the wind and trying to get the ear plugs in, I lost much of what was being said. My husband used his Bose headset and it worked great. You might want to suggest that people use their own headphones as an option.

The 16 day river cruise was very, very good. The monarch empress was a great ship. Rooms very comfortable and wonderful hair and skin products. Food excellent, in flavour and choices. Very nice wines. All the ports were very interesting and scenery beautiful. Last but not least, our cruise director Kurt was fabulous. So much information of castles and history along the way. The hotel Corinthia was gorgeous to stay two nights. All the local guides were very good to listen to and transfers, very good drivers. Thank you Gate 1

It was excellent! Everyone in Monarch Governess were very pleasant & wonderful! We'd like to acknowledge the excellent service we received! We are so grateful that we decided to join Gate 1 to travel the Danube River Cruise to Hungary-Austria-Germany. We would like to say special thanks to our Cruise Director Soma; Activity Director Jorge, Room Service Crew Suwardi; Waiters Rudi, Deni, Ega, Andreas. Although we could not name everyone one by one, we must say each & everyone had their share of good deeds to make our very first River Cruise an awesome experience! We will continue to explore other destinations through the Gate 1 River Cruise! We will invite our family & friends to explore the world through Gate 1 Travel!

Our tour to the Balkans was exceptional in every way! We are so happy that friends we met on our Scotland tour in May suggested this destination. We booked this tour together and might not have thought of this travel experience without their recommendation. This tour was incredibly fascinating and full of so much information, so much so, that it will probably take us several days and weeks to fully comprehend all that we have seen and done. I never expected to learn and enjoy so much in such a short time. Our tour guide, Sherban, gave us a wealth of information about the region and went above and beyond to make our tour successful, fun and interesting. He was one of the best tour guides we have had in all our 13 tours and we all became a family of 40 people who loved every minute! The hotels were exceptional, dinners were delicious and so happy we had so many meals together. (I do believe this helps a group to bond so much sooner!). Our bus driver, John, was warm, friendly and efficient. The bus was always spotless. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in a unique and incredible travel adventure!!! Gate 1 Travel has completely enriched our lives by giving us "the world for less" and we are truly grateful to them for giving us so much joy!

I had a great trip! This was my first tour with any company and I will definitely recommend Gate 1 to friends. I was completely impressed with Sherban's ability to manage 40 people by providing needed information about general organization, daily activities, and upcoming activities. He is an extremely kind and thoughtful person with a wonderful sense of humor. During our trip, he interacted with each person with interest and helpfulness, making us all feel comfortable and valued. The choices of where, when and how long to stop at daily sights worked out very well. Sherban shared an abundance of information with strong English language skills. He revisited key historical information which helped me, a person who is not skilled at history, be able to understand and remember. The hotel rooms, food and locations were generally excellent. The included meal restaurants varied from amazing to mostly yummy. I'm grateful that we moved seats on the bus since some of the group always clamored for the front seats.

My trip was OUTSTANDING! I did a Viking Danube cruise earlier this year and just finished my price comparison. You guys at Gate 1 Rock!!!!!! We had included excursions almost everyday. We were offered optional tours that we took advantage of and we were never disappointed. Your local guides were loud and clear. Informative and you can tell they love their country and their job. Our tour director was amazing. Totally Flawless Traveling. That is the best part. Bogdan even made arrangements for us to visit a couple of castles that were not originally on our tour. I have spoke highly of Gate 1 to many others, and will continue to do so.

I just completed the Jewels of the Alpine trip and it was wonderful. What made the trip so wonderful was our tour guide Nadine. She is excellent. Energetic, caring and compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. We have traveled more than 20 trip with Gate 1 and we had always had excellent guide but Nadine is there on the top of the list. We are so impressed with your company we never hesitate to tell people about you and we know some who have taken our advice and done a trip with you. I am 85 so our land tours are cutting down, even though we have two scheduled for next year, but we cruise a lot more. I always have Gate 1 trips available on my phone to show people where you go and how inexpensive they are. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am just back from a discovery tour of the Balkans. Nicola was our guide. I just wanted to say this really was a fantastic trip. He did an outstanding job. The sites we visited were all well done. The hotels were good and the food was very good. I have done event planning for a number of years and know that it is a lot of work to pull these things off. Our guide made it look very easy. I think Gate 1 has these trips down to the science. Thank you very much for a great vacation.

As far as the Gate 1 15 day tour is concerned we would rate it as an A plus. The core components include our tour manager Michael and excellent motor coach driver Robert. The two five star properties and other four star properties were also good especially based on location. We picked this tour because of each destination and its place in world history, culture, architecture, & music concerts. The local city guides brought perspective and relevant insights to our contemporary societies. Our visit to Bratislava exceeded our expectaion, and was a gem. Auschwitz-Birkenau was perhaps the most important excursion to understand a horrific period in recent history. We have traveled extensively to all parts of the world. This was our third Gate 1 tour, and I would consider it the best.

First we want to start off by saying our guide, Siobhan was one of the best guides we have ever had and Gate 1 is lucky to have her. Granted Switzerland has a lot to offer travelers but she made the experience even better with her knowledge, friendliness, concern and positive delightful attitude and personality. She also added extra excursions for us on the few free days/afternoons we had and she made all these extras look easy to organize and treated every one as if it were the first time she had ever done so. She was always enthusiastic and looked forward to everything on our itinerary. Everywhere in Switzerland is eye candy. The beauty of the lakes and mountains make this trip special and the added bonus was the Glacier Express. We never thought we'd want to endure a slow 8 hour train trip but along with the beauty, Siobhan provided activities and team building exercises that made the time fly by.

The Majestic Balkans trip was like walking into an ancient history book with so many sites to see. Our local guides provided unique and informative insights, and our tour manager Ana was outstanding! Ana's knowledge about each country we visited was superb. Her humor, lively conversation and enthusiasm kept our small group engaged, and, by the end of our travels, brought us together like an extended family.

It is our second trip with Gate 1, after last year trip to Ireland. We returned from this Baltic trip with the feeling that someone succeeded to achieve the best of his job and this was our guide GREG !!! The preparation of the logistics for the trip, the every detail regarding the sites we visited, the personal relations for the well doing with everyone from our group, the in advance connections with the restaurants that we will have lunch or dinner, are the facts that impressed in a very positive way. On the other hand, his presentation of the Countries we visited, the historic knowledge of the region and relations, are important and contributed to our better understanding of this special part of Europe. This is the most successful trip that we participated, from the preparation and organizing point of view and we thank GATE1 choosing such people working for the Company. This will be the reason for us recommending our friends to participate in future GATE1 trips.

I can not say enough WONDERFUL things about our tour manager, Ana Maria. She was simply DELIGHTFUL! Always concerned with our safety. Ever helpful for suggestions for our free time (restaurants, parks, museums, etc.). Everything you could want in a tour manager - she was GREAT!. In addition, our driver, Jellico, was extraordinary! How he kept so calm during such intense driving situations I will never know, but he thankfully transported us safely from destination to destination!! Our local guides were also exceptional, even surpassing prior Gate 1 local guide experiences. I have already recommended this tour to my friends!

This was our first trip with Gate1. I found the entire experience superb. Egidijus Cickevicius was an oustanding tour leader who went well above what I might expect of a tour manager and guide. His depth of knowledge throughout the tour was amazing. It was obvious he not only enjoyed what he did but expended great effort to provide an outstanding experience. He provided local annotated maps, local 'treats' that added to our understanding and experience for each location, and numerous insights and details regarding our various sites. Egis also expended extra effort giving us insight, directions, and even leading us to non-tour places during leisure time. Additionally, his English was amazing. I cannot overstate how pleased we were with his work. Victoria, who provided support for one day was also outstanding. Philip, our final tour manager - during our Poland visit, was also an expert, professional, personable, and most able. We were extremely pleased with his performance and efforts as well. Our driver Spijeck made us quite comfortable throughout our journeys. His friendly demeanor was most appreciated. He also extended extra efforts to get us into and out of our various locations and stops during our tour. I, of course, was most interested in comparing our Gate1 experience to that of other tour companies with which we have traveled. I was truly impressed and pleased at the quality and return on my investment on this trip. My most sincere thanks for this experience!

This was our sixth trip with Gate1. The river cruise experience far exceeded our expectations .....on land or on the water our tour guides and staff were A+. The Monarch Princess crew was absolutely amazing- so friendly, helpful and upbeat! The total experience was superb!

Our trip was amazing. We enjoyed every minute of it. This was our first trip with Gate 1 and it will definitely not be our last. We were impressed by the organization of the trip and how smoothly everything went. We also appreciate the affordability of traveling with Gate 1. The Gate 1 representative ,Mira, for the land portion in Prague was pleasant, easy to work with and very efficient. She gave us many helpful hints as we set out on own in the city. We can not say enough about our cruise director, Adrien. She worked tirelessly each and every day and was clearly visible at all hours. Her daily port talks were informative and easy to understand. Adrien went above and beyond to help us with the challenges of navigating in foreign places. In addition to being exceptionally competent at her job, she was pleasant, approachable and it was just a delight to be in her company. Adrien is truly an asset to your company. We felt extremely fortunate to have been entrusted to her care. We throughly enjoyed, Daniele, our activity director. His personality and sense of humor put everyone at ease. His planned activities were fun and just enough after a long day of touring. There was always laughter when Daniele was around. He joined us on tours, taking charge of a group and always making sure nobody got lost. Daniele and Adrien were a perfect match and it was obvious that they enjoyed working together. The Monarch Queen was clean and the accommodations were wonderful. The meals were delicious, beautifully presented and choices were great. Chef Vladimir Gamolov did an excellent job. The Maitre'd, Marius Miren, could always be found checking to make sure each of us enjoyed our meals. The breakfast buffet provided a variety of delicious choices to start our day. Every member of the wait staff was pleasant and attentive to details. They ,too, worked hard to make meal time a nice experience. This trip has convinced us to travel abroad more and to travel with Gate 1. Thank you for providing us with the opportunity to make such great memories.

I'm looking back on this trip with great memories. Our tour manager, Peter, was outstanding. He was extremely conscientious about all of our activities and schedules and always kept us informed of what to expect next. Any tiny issue that arose he took care of swiftly and professionally. Our bus driver, Yoris, was also magnificent. I marveled at how easily he maneuvered the narrow streets, especially at night with no street lights. He was always happy, smiling and even brought us cookies on several occasions. The hotels were wonderful and the food was interesting and plentiful. I particularly liked the French cooking class! I'm looking forward to my next Gate1 trip!

We enjoyed our Central Europe guided tour very much. It was a very pleasant journey. We could sense that Michael had worked tirelessly in order to make this trip a pleasant one for all members in the team. Michael is very knowledgeable and provided us all of the details regarding the histories of the attractions in the different cities/countries that we had visited. The Majestic Balkans tour was fantastic in every way and it really exceeded my expectation. This tour was full of historical facts and archeological sites, along with the modern day versions of each country. It is a perfect way to learn about Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Albania. These countries have come a long way. They are all vibrant, affordable and offer a great travel experience. The itinerary is well organized with professional choice of comfortable hotels, historical places to visit, good local food experience and most of all, excellent local guides who shared knowledge and love for their native countries. Our tour manager, Patricia, was competent, accessible, and highly professional. She managed the tour with perfect pace, not rushed in any of the stops, and gave us perfect amount of time on our own to explore. Our driver was very experienced. He showed his skills on high mountain roads, as well as in cities crowded with vehicles and crazy drivers. His control of a 40-foot coach throughout the small serpentine roads of the 4 countries was amazing. This trip made me want to go back to each of these four countries to explore more. I found North Macedonia fabulous and completely surprising. It is a tour to be remembered for a lifetime. I would highly recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful time, best trip ever! Switzerland is just jaw dropping, unbelievable beautiful, majestic and amazing! The tour is great, we enjoyed the whole trip, foremost we were blessed with great weather and the BEST TOUR MANAGER in our opinion - Dennis! He's a true gem, and Gate 1 is very fortunate to have him. We were blessed with his knowledge, experience, genuine care and wisdom. Dennis is the quintessential Tour Manager/Advisor. We couldn't have asked for more. Our group was wonderful, different folks from different walks of life, backgrounds and personalities. We are grateful we all got along so well. Our Switzerland trip was truly incredible. Frederica, our tour director, was a delightful and highly professional guide. She efficiently managed all our arrangements, leaving us with no concerns. We just got back this weekend from our 2nd small discovery tour & our 3rd gate1 escorted travel tour. Among the 3 escorted gate1 travel tour, I would say this is so far "the Best of the Best tour", we've ever experienced so far traveling with gate1 travel. Our tour manager and bus safety driver, Beatrice and Marionne respectively, were an unbeatable combination in our overall travel safety and group travel tour efficiency. All of us in the group of 22 diverse travelers were in sync & respectful in our departure & arrival times. Everything went very well and we are very pleased with Beatrice's wealth of knowledge about Switzerland's culture and diversity. All her food and dining recommendations during our leisure time on our own were spot on, especially with regards to Laderach Swiss chocolates. We wanted to keep on travelling with Beatrice & Marionne as our tour manager & travel driver partner in all our future gate1 escorted travels from now on. We have recommended Gate1 escorted travels even before to many of our friends. And sincerely, we will continue to do so, adding Beatrice & Marionne's names as highly recommended travel partners to all our friends future escorted travel plans. My wife & I are planning our 2024 vacay. As a matter of fact, we don't mind going back to Switzerland again with gate1 travels.

The Swiss Alpine Jewels tour was 12 days of spectacular natural beauty. Everywhere we went, everywhere we looked we saw gorgeous views before us! We cannot stop talking about the joy it gave us to be there with the like-minded people who were in our group. In addition to the incredible beauty of the country, we enjoyed the company of an excellent driver named Deiter and an exceptional tour manager Serge. Serge and Deiter were a wonderful team that took care of us like we were their family. Serge, a resident of Salzburg, Austria, was filled with knowledge of and love for Switzerland which he imparted to us in a way that made us love Switzerland even more. In addition to his great knowledge of Switzerland and Europe, he shared his wisdom in a wonderfully subtle way that always kept us smiling. I could go on, but let me end by saying that of the eight Gate1 trips we have done since we started traveling with Gate 1 in 2019, the Swiss Alpine Jewels is the most magnificent!

I had the privilege of being guided by Katarina from Gate One Travel on a whirlwind tour of Central Europe that took us through five cities and four countries in 11 days. To say that Katarina was an exceptional tour guide would be an understatement! Katarina's knowledge was awe-inspiring. Our hiking tour in Switzerland was fantastic! Our tour guide was truly exceptional in creating a memorable experience for us. Not every scheduled activity occurred as planned but our tour leader did her best to compensate with viable alternatives.

Our 15 Day Danube cruise was FANTASTIC. The hotels in Berlin, Dresden and Prague were perfect, the Governess River boat was wonderful. However, the reason the trip was especially great is our tour guide Martin. He was present all the time, never too busy to answer any questions and always went above and beyond when we wanted to know where to find a toy store, museum or restaurant. I have been on many, many tours and this was just the best !

It was one of the most memorable trips I have taken with Gate One. Our tour manager Nicholas is the best that I encountered in 40 yrs of travels. His knowledge and service was beyond what I was expecting, And everyone in our group felt the same about him. I would give him 10 stars if that was possible. What an asset for Gate One.

My trip to Poland was wonderful! Poland was beautiful and my experience there was made special by the exceptional tour leader our group had. Marta went above and beyond to share her love of her homeland with us, and attended to all our needs with efficiency, caring, and sincere concern. She is a gem, and I would recommend a GATE1 Poland tour to friends if they had her as their leader.

Our first Gate 1 tour was exceptional thanks to an outstanding tour guide/manager, Dalija. Dalija was welcoming, very informative about each country's and city's culture and history, highly organized throughout the trip, and often went above and beyond such as personally taking our group on a short orientation to things around the hotel and landmarks for directions to help during our own free time. She provided and posted guide sheets with each cities major sites that we could visit on our free time as well as restaurant suggestions from other Gate 1 travelers. While there were many positive aspects of Gate 1's Baltic countries/Poland Classic tour, Dalija facilitated a very positive experience. My husband and I sincerely appreciated Dalija's professional and dedicated expertise.

Our Cruise with Gate 1 was great. We spent a few days on our own after the trip and I can tell you that we are spoiled by Gate 1 and know we certainly would rather have the structure of the tours, meals, etc that Gate 1 gives. All the staff are outstanding and really do go out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. Now we just have to think about what our next adventure will be and know we will be using them.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip. It was well organized and the accommodations were excellent. But a special note needs to be mentioned about our tour manager Colin Batch. Colin was beyond excellent. He was very knowledgeable, informative and communicated well. He was constantly taking care of us and worked very hard to meet our needs. We especially enjoyed the small things he did such as trivia games and small gifts he gave out In our opinion, the tour was excellent but Colin put it over the top. We are hoping that Colin will be our tour manager for that trips well! We are very happy and satisfied with our trip and are starting to plan our next trip with Gate1.

We had a magnificent time on the 10 Day Classic Baltics tour. Gate 1 made us feel very cared for, from the moment we arrived until our transfer to the airport. The core itinerary ensured we saw all of the "must-see" highlights in each city, but it also allowed enough flexibility to fill the rest of the day with things we enjoyed. It was a very smooth trip, and the history and beauty of these countries should put them on everyone's list. Our guides were also unbelievable. The driver (Zbyszek, if I'm spelling that right) was so kind and went out of his way to make it easier for travelers to move between the hotel and tour stops. Egis, our tour manager, blew us away. He was so personable and detail-oriented. He made sure that each guest had what they needed and would bend over backwards to make people comfortable. He ensured we got a taste for local life by bringing in stories, treats, and fun facts throughout our trip. He even surprised my friend with a precious gift because he knew it was her birthday. The service he provided was beyond anything we'd expect from this tour, and it's the reason we left with such wonderful memories of the Baltics. He is the gold standard for tour managers. Just got back from our Switzerland Tour which was outstanding. Our tour Director Joanna (Asia) could not have been more professional and friendly. She handled any issues like a pro and never missed a step. She treated everyone like a new found friend and really made the trip outstanding. With Asia as our tour guide, the trip exceeded all expectations. We could have not had a better tour director. We are looking forward to another trip with Gate1.

I've been on a number of Gate1 trips and have always been extremely satisfied with the guides and drivers. However, I have to say that Egis and Zbyszek made the best team ever. They went out of their way to ensure our enjoyment, comfort and safety. Very knowledgeable, professional and caring!

I feel it necessary to tell you how fantastic the tour guide, Mira, is and how lucky Gate1 is to have her! Mira is one of the best guides I've ever encountered during my travels. She is knowledgeable, funny, has great stories and was genuinely concerned about every member in our group. She was not just a tour guide, but a member of our travel group. She made time to get to know each and every person and truly cared about their experience. I feel lucky to know her as traveling to destinations are just a part of travel, but the people and experiences you have with them, really make memories that last.
